Case study on finding roommate/flatmate finding service.

The target audience is People who recently moved to tier-1 or tier-2 cities for the purpose of education or job and willing to share their room with friends, relatives and of like- minded people. Most common age group of these people is 23 – 35 and almost all people have access to internet through wide range of devices.


OBJECTIVE :

TO UNDERSTAND USER NEEDS AND WANTS FOR THE ROOMMATE/FLATMATE FINDING SERVICE.

HYPOTHESIS :

1. Working professionals in tier-1 cities are mostly stay in shared accommodation as they shifted to tier-1 cities for work purpose and to reduce cost of living.

2. Mostly people look out for friends and family members to share accommodation because of trust and comfort

3. People might not feel comfortable sharing accommodation with opposite genders.


INTERVIEW QUESTIONNAIRE :

6. What brands do you use in your day to day life ?

7. Which apps you use most ?

8. Where are you from ?

12. What is your preferred price range for a rented flat ?

13. Do you wish to share your accommodation ?

14. With whom you would share your accommodation ?

15. Are you comfortable sharing accommodation with opposite gender ?

16. What are the problems faced in your current accommodation ?

17. How do you search a flat to stay ?

18. Amenities preferred by you ?

19. Do you prefer a parking lot for your accommodation ?

20. Why are you staying in a shared accommodation ?



After analysis data from surveys and personal interviews:

1. Our first hypothesis is stated medium either true or false. 43.1% stated that they stay in shared accommodation to reduce cost of living by surveys and about 72% stated through personal interviews.

2. Our second hypothesis is stated to be true. 86.3% stated that they are comfortable sharing accommodation with their friends and relatives.

3. Our third hypothesis also stated to be true. 86.3% stated they might not share their accommodation with opposite gender.
